The Most Underused Furniture - Screens

I have always adored screens, any shape or color.
They are the most underused furniture in the home.
Here are some wonderful examples.

In the dining room!
Simply wonderful.

In the office - this one is see through.

Love how he divided the room.

unknown

Screens can be hung on the wall.

Placed behind headboards.

Modern or traditional

Between 2 doors - screens know no bounds.

Love the mirrors on this screen.

Old mirrors make this screen and table match.

Love this one!

They can be used to hide many things.
These are bifold wallpapered doors that look like a screen when opened.

 unknown

My, my - I just adore this.

How divine is this one?
I happen to love blue & white pottery.

So tell me dear readers,
what do you think of these screens?
Aren't they the most underused furniture or what?

Love,

Peggy

I Heart Screens

I adore screens.
You can section off a room, hide things behind them, hang them on wall, make an entrance in a small apt and make headboards.
I have used them a pyramid of ways for clients.
I personally think they are the most under used item in Interior Design!

I love the screens below.

I even have a board of screens on Pinterest.

Isn't this screen handsome?

Mademoiselle Chanel's private apartment.
Chanel used screens!

 Another picture of Chanel's apartment.
I think she split a screen in two- to make a cozy seating arrangement.

A screen that is hung on the wall is divine.

Screens

Screens
I have always had a secret crush on any screen.
I truly think they are the most unused items!
Below are just a few in the shop,BRASWELL

This is a Chinese screen that is used on one of the Front Windows,
however they let light in also.

These are fabulous! Steal & brass.
(these are used to separate work area from the shop)

Another with Glass & fret work.

This is a Japanese two panel screen

 Painted(on both sides)

forming a room!

Coconut hulls in this fabulous one(there are 2/two of these screens)

Chinese window screen(used as wall hangings)

Screens I got in Alabama!
They have the original glass with a diamond pattern.
I love the patina of the wood.

Dear Readers, Tell me your stories.
How do you use screens?
I would love to hear.

Love, Peggy

I heart Screens

I love and adore screens.
In my humble opinion, they are the most underused items in a home.

They are all over at our shop, BRASWELL.

Chinese 6 panel screen

Same screen with a  picture hanging.

Same screen with a Japanese scroll.

A mirrored screened with wooden details.

We used paintings from the 40's to form a screen to separate the office from the shop.

I found this screen in Alabama. I adore the wood color and diamond glass panes.

Coconut screen in the left corner + Alabama screen in the right corner

Chinese short screen -  used for windows.

Hand painted screen + Pine screen

 Japanese 2 panel screen

Great Screen from France - glass, needlepoint and petite point.

A Fabulous 1930 stainless and bronze screen.

For a client, we floated the bed with a screen behind (my favorite way if you have room).
The screen was designed by me in LA and was made in China by traditional screen makers.

We stained the screen in that glorious color of sea foam.

Unique because the screen was custom designed, both sides of the screen carved (most of the screens from China are carved only on one side).

Behind the screen, a passageway & built in storage space.

Dear Readers,

Tell me how you would use screens?

Have a wonderful weekend.

Love, Peggy
