London Walking

Here are some photos I took walking around in London.
I had such a wonderful time

I can't remember the name of the street???
I know I was there!

Those buses are something to be hold!

I am pretty sure I was in Shanghai Tang.

Janet said the streets looked like a cleaner version of New York.

It has been raining when this was taken.

This was along the street where my client lives.

This was right before a big downpour.

This tree was blooming in all its glory.

I had to take a picture of these two guys talking.

Loved all the flags flying.

Looks like a very posh street.

The macarons are soooo good here.

This is the Royal Academy - I do remember that!

Department store, under construction.

It is so charming in London.

I had to take a picture of this wicker bike.
I was quite taken with it.
 The entire thing is wicker!!!!!

An apartment house!

 A typical street in London.
Look at all the trees blooming + the flowers.

I had a glorious time.
Wish you all could have been there with me, dear readers.

Love,

Peggy

Blakes Hotel, London - The Chinese Room

Blakes Hotel
33 Roland Gardens, London SW7 3PF, United Kingdom

As promised, here are some pictures from London.
I went to Blakes Hotel.
 I adore this hotel!

Blakes Hotel is a 5-star hotel in London, England, credited as being one of the first boutique hotels in the world. It is located at 33 Roland Gardens in South Kensington, (not far from my client.)
The hotel was established in 1978 by Anouska Hempel, the London hotelier and designer, and is packed full of eclectic artifacts from all over the world collected by Hempel during her globe-hopping from China to Cambodia.

Good design never goes out of style.
Nothing has changed since 1978.

Anouska Hempel designed everything.

Anouska Hempel used to sell this fabric.
My client loves it.

The colors look black in the daylight.
Funny it looks grey here with my flash.

The bar is quite spectacular.

She has these black screens everywhere.
I am sure she designed them as I have
never seen them anywhere else.

The screens with the persimmon jugs are another Hempel design.
The staircase is wrapped in bamboo with black joints...
So chic!

I think the stripes were painted on the sisal rug.

The little touches, like the books, are everywhere.

Sometimes the stripe runs vertical then sometimes horizontal as you can see.
The black tables have a round piece of outdoor fabric on them.

The floors are white tiled for easy cleaning.
She used a Louis Vuitton trunk as a coffee table.

There's our drinks on the trunk - a diet coke & cranberry juice.
After all, I was there to take pictures.

The bar is something in black.

One night in 1991 I had dinner at Blakes.

Anouska Hempel was giving a party at the restaurant.
I was so excited!
I have always admired her as a designer and as a person & still do!

Ha, just a little bit of trivia!

Love,

Peggy

Back From London!

I am back but jet lagged!
London was grand.
The weather was cold but sunny...

Two gentlemen having a great talk.

Love all the flags.

The trip back home was long but well worth it.
I adore London!

Dear readers, I will have more
pictures of my UK trip next week!

Love,

Peggy

Center Piece Ideas

Aren't these center pieces something?

Love how this looks!

So charming.

Anything with lemons!

Low enough so you can see over the boxes.

unknown

They have used paper lanterns I love so much.

Isn't this wonderful?

All white with a touch of color!
 Beautiful.

So fabulous, for a wedding.

This just looks like spring!

Grass + gerbera daisies.

unknown

Love how they have folded the leaves under.

Grass + orchids, wonderful.

So chic!
 Looks like fall.

Apples + mushrooms + pears + greenery.
 So creative!

My head is bursting with new ideas about center pieces.

Which one us you favorite dear readers?

Love,

Peggy
