Things I love- Antlers

I adore antlers, maybe it's growing up in the deep south, whatever, I just love them(anyway)! Below, see some of the ones I love!

I like antlers with earrings + Italian mask!

Birds nest are another thing I love. They work so well with antlers.

I rescued Mr. Bambi from a pawn shop in Texas. They were throwing him out. I put him in the front seat of my convertible, top down and saved him. He's been the mascot of my shop.

These are antlers with earrings hanging in BRASWELL - the shop.

These antlers are in the window with decanters, rock crystal pieces and crystal earrings.

These are in my living room made out of Japanese scroll boxes. I think they are stunning.

Janet used a head (I found in Texas also) with light bulbs coming out of the eye sockets!

As you can tell, I adore antlers.
 Hanging above the mirror.
In an urn!
 Anyway!

Tell me, dear readers what you love.

Have a lovely weekend!

Love, Peggy

IKEA Rugs to Pillows

These started out as IKEA rugs from a few seasons ago. I made them into outdoor pillows.

They were thick woven rugs with fringe - how could I use them ?

Then a light bulb went off.

They are used on a daybed outside, but they could be used anywhere.

This daybed gets a great deal of use as a couch & sleeping place.

The rugs were used on both sides of the pillow with stripes matching.

The fringe was put on the ends of each pillow with feather insert used inside for comfort.

A zipper was put in each pillow for easy washing.

This is daybed used outside.

This particular IKEA rug is no longer available but you can use something like this Nate Berkus for HSN rug.

I used a different IKEA rug to upholster this footstool.

I do not know the size of this rug. I know it was larger than a 3' x 5'.

I used nail heads and painted the legs black.

A footstool made out of an IKEA rug.

Just use your imagination for things you find!

Have a great weekend!

Perfume Bottles

Perfume Bottles,
I have been fascinated by these bottles since I was a little girl.

I remember Joy by Jean Patou was my mom's favorite scent.
The smell reminds me of her.

I have a memory as a little girl, I  used to mix different food coloring in water to put in my mom and grandmother's empty perfume bottles in the garage.

Oh, then I found Jean Patou 1000 - Actually my friend JR introduced me to this one.
Love at first sight.

I collect perfume bottles

I use the bottles when I entertain, I cut flowers and greenery in them.

scattered among the candles on my dining table.

It takes just a little greenery and a flower.

These are a few of my favorites I use today.

Annick Goutal

Chanel No. 5

Kelly Caleche by Hermes

Vetiver by Guerlain

Yves Saint Laurent, Rive Gauche

My friend, Julia Riva, who introduced me to Jean Patou 1000, did this fabulous painting for me. As you can see it has the bottle, joss paper, all the things I adore.

Scent is the one sense that bring back the when & where.
I remember the person who was wearing it and how I felt immediately.

Tell me about your favorite perfume, I love to hear from you!
(who knows maybe I will find a new perfume)

Have a lovely weekend!

Love,

Peggy

Amazing Stripes

I adore stripes! All kinds, all shapes & all sizes.

I put three stripes into play here.

I used a stripe fabric to reupholster an existing chair my client had.

Sunbrella pillows

In this family room we reupholstered the wing chair in a burgundy stripe fabric.
I created a set-in stripe in navy (I could not find a stripe I liked) for the golden chair.

We made this chair and upholstered.

This stripe upholstered double chair turns into a twin bed for overnight guests.

Linen sofa with stripes.

Window seat with stripes and toile.

A stripe was mitered for the cushion.

Details with Stripes.

Ceiling border in a garden room

Stripes used on a French door.

Roman shade with stripes.

As you can see, dear readers, I have used lots of stripes in various ways.
Hope you can use some of the suggestions I have shown above.

Tell me, how do you use stripes?

Love, Peggy
