First Day Of Summer

The above photo gives you a grand picture of the sand and water.

That is a picture of Ashley, my daughter when she was little. 

Ashley was so adorable in those white sun glasses. 

That is seaweed that has washed up on the beach. 

Ashley had the curliest hair when she was little!

Hmmm, don't know who that little boy is!

The pictures were taken in Pensacola, Fla.

They have the whitest sand and bluest water...

Ashley, my daughter was having such a grand time!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day!

That's my sweet daddy in the picture above!

The picture was taken somewhere in Florida on a winter's day.  

He was kind, generous + loved me very much.

I don't know where we were when this picture was taken but I do love & treasure it!

He got to see me in my wedding dress! Yeah.

Wherever you are dad, I love you. 

Here is another dad and his daughter! 

She was three weeks old.

Here is the same little girl at 1 year giving her dad a kiss.
We all love our Father's.

New York, Part I- Restaurants, Theatre & Museums

Lighthouse Restaurant

While visiting my son, in New York we went to eat at the Lighthouse in Brooklyn.

We saw a play with Bette Midler, and it was fabulous! 
She is amazing.
Go, no run if you get a chance.

This was a sign that appeared before the play started.

Peasant

Peasant is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in NY.

 It's wonderful. 

Inside Peasant, they had logs stacked for the ovens.

 Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Met's spring 2013 Costume Institute exhibition, PUNK: Chaos to Couture, will examine punk's impact on high fashion from the movement's birth in the early 1970s through its continuing influence today. Featuring approximately one hundred designs for men and women, the exhibition will include original punk garments and recent, directional fashion to illustrate how haute couture and ready-to-wear borrow punk's visual symbols.

One day we went to the Metropolitan museum.

An amazing place.

Cheers Thai Restaurant

I adored the decor of this restaurant.
 This fixture was hanging behind the bar. 

The food was not so hot but the decor was amazing. 

This red sculpture was hanging over our heads.

There were crates with light fixtures that were hanging from the ceiling!

They had lamps on pieces of wood sticking out of the walls.

 Noguchi Museum

Isamu Noguchi was a prominent Japanese American artist and landscape architect whose artistic career spanned six decades, from the 1920s onward. Known for his sculpture and public works, Noguchi also designed stage sets for various Martha Graham productions, and several mass-produced lamps and furniture pieces, some of which are still manufactured and sold.

In 1947, Noguchi began a collaboration with the Herman Miller company, when he joined with George Nelson, Paul László and Charles Eames to produce a catalog containing what is often considered to be the most influential body of modern furniture ever produced, including the iconic Noguchi table which remains in production today. His work lives on around the world and at the Noguchi Museum in New York City.

The Noguchi museum was glorious. 

My son, Gardner is the roving ambassador for Suntory Japanese Whisky.
Suntory had a big party at the Noguchi museum on May 14th.
Suntory was started in 1923! 

The party was amazing as was my son.
 I was introduced to all his friends from Japan. 
What a treat!

I loved being with my daughter & my son in NY.
What a lovely mother's day + birthday I had with both of them.

Urban Unveiled at Vibiana + A Thank You!

Some of you read about our doing a booth for Harry Warren Entertainment at Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles.
We've done a wedding for a client at Vibiana not too long ago.
We can finally show pictures of the event and the booth we did for Harry Warren Entertainment.
 

This is what greeted everyone as they came into the event.

It was projected on the wall.

These are the Flor carpet tiles. The space for the booth was 8' x 8'. 

Everyone was hard at work getting ready for the show. 

Here are our balloons being blown up the day of the event.  

These are a glimpse of the balloons from underneath.

A life size cut out of Harry Warren surveys it all with one red balloon.

The theme of the show was The Great Gatsby. 

We used lots of pearls + black & whit.

  The flowers were from Sticks & Stones Floral Design.
