Pantone Color Of The Year 2015 - Marsala

I must say it is not one of my favorite colors,

but here goes Marsala.
It is Pantone's color of the year.

Pantone Color Of The Year - Marsala

Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness. This hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors.

The Versatility of Marsala

Equally appealing to men and women, Marsala is a stirring and flavorful shade for apparel and accessories, one that encourages color creativity and experimentation
Flattering against many skin tones, sultry and subtle Marsala is a great go-to color for beauty, providing enormous highlight for the cheek, and a captivating pop of color for nails, shadows lips and hair.
Dramatic and at the same time grounding, the rich and full-bodied red-brown Marsala brings color warmth into home interiors
An earthy shade with a bit of sophistication, texture is the story in print and packaging. A matte finish highlights Marsala’s organic nature while adding a sheen conveys a completely different message of glamour and luxury.

Here it looks pretty good!

  1. Hi Peggy,
I love these images. Marsala in its deepest saturated hues and in the right fabrics. The washed out shade of Marsala just looks dated to me.

  2. Oh darling Peggy...this is totally YUM!!! As I would say in my Parisian accent, "J'adore." I've always been attracted to just a bit of berry/russet/rust etc in a bedroom. Just seems to make it cozy and rich I think. I think some lampshades in this colour could be perfect for my new townhouse. I'm onto it now....love searching for fabric.

When we get settled, I'll send you some photos...just for fun. You might like to see them.

Blog looking beautiful by the way!

  3. Hello dearest Peggy! What a pretty color that frankly, I never thought of. I veer toward icier colors like white, grey and aqua. I never really cared for pink so I think the red/pink family is not one I'd go to...but the combinations you share are STUNNING! OH YES! And to see this color with the blue gives it a whole new dimension!!!

Thank you so much for coming to visit. I am still present in Blogland, visiting and leaving comments when I can, and my blog will not be deleted. I may come back after I figure out how I will be able to manage my private writing life with work and maybe blogging, which I LOVE.

    Enjoy your week! Anita
