Fantastic Gardens, Part II





This is part II of my Pinterest board for fantastic gardens.
The outside design of a home is equally important as inside of a home.
 I have a wonderful landscape designer I always work with here in LA, Debbie Hooper.

Fantastic Gardens, Part I

Isn't this a beautiful photo?

We used to call these white flowers, bridal wreath---what is their real name?

Marty





Guess who came over to Peggy Braswell Design?
Marty the neighborhood cat! 
I was cooking for a party in the kitchen and in he came! 





"I saw a sign that said Cats Welcome"



Marty has the most beautiful blue eyes.




"I need to see everything."




Here he is in the office.
Looking & smelling everything he sees.




Marty loves Ralph Lauren -
 A basket to lie down in + love this day bed.




He also adores staying under the warmth of a lamp. 
Marty is so right!

Bathrooms & Powder Rooms From Pinterest

Cajun Meat Loaf + Cool Tomato Salsa



Cajun Meat Loaf


1 tablespoon canola oil
2 medium yellow onions, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
3 tablespoons minced jalapeño pepper
2 tablespoons minced sun-fried tomatoes
1/4 cup drained capers
1/3 cup tomato paste
3 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
1/2 pound lean ground beef
**1 1/2 pounds lean ground turkey
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup skim milk
Cool Tomato Salsa
** Lemon


1. Preheat the oven to 350°
 2. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until soft, about 10 minutes. Transfer to a large mixing bowl.
3. Add the jalapeño pepper, tomatoes, capers, tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, and cayenne to the onion mixture( this is where I add the lemon juice), and mix thoroughly. Add the ground beef and turkey(if you add turkey) bread crumbs, and skim milk, and combine throughly.
4. Place the meat loaf in a 9 x 4-1/2 x 2-1/2 inch bread pan. Place in the oven and bake for 1-1/2 hours, until crusty- brown on top. Remove from the oven and allow to rest for 10 minutes. Serve with salsa.
  


Optional
Cool Tomato Salsa
1-1/2 cups finely diced or chopped plum tomatoes
1/2 cup finely diced white onion
1/2 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar

Place all of the ingredients in a small bowl and mix well. Set aside for 1 hour to let the flavors meld.

I adore this garlic peeler. It does work!
Just put the garlic inside, roll it around and viola!
It removes the skin of the garlic - Cut off the ends, chop it like you wish. 


Onions & garlic simmering in the pan. 






 
Capers, green peppers & dry ingredients.

This is what it looks like before it goes in the oven. 





Finishing touch with a little bit of cilantro.

The cool tomato salsa is great also. 





No kidding this is the best meat loaf, and I don't even like meat loaf.
I love it, my children love it, Janet loves it!
