Happy Easter from London

I was in the UK- thought you would like these pictures.
Spring has sprung

This is the entrance to UK Conrans, not far from where I was working in London. Imagine walking through this flower market every day. Inside the lovely french doors is a Restaurant, then comes the store from this entrance. What a treat-the smell of flowers is delicious.

Flower markets all over London!

This market not too not far from Chelsea Green(my work site)

The glorious smell+flowers.

Spring is in the air all over London!
And soon a Royal Wedding.

Happy Easter to all of you.

Love,

Peggy

Finns - Take out in London

One day in London I went to Finns (which is just around the corner from where I was working) to get lunch. I was working in Chelsea Green - What a treat!

Here is a hand rendering of Finns' building + their company information hanging on their wall, what an interesting place it is + they have delicious homemade food. I took away a bowl of soup, a panini and a delicious cookie.

This is a photo of their window, everything is just Yummmmy and so fresh.

You can get a glimpse of the inside counter with my green umbrella resting & at the ready.
Although, I must say I had the most glorious spring weather while in London. On this particular day, the sky looked like rain. It was cool & overcast but no rain. Lucky me!

This is a close up of the lanterns that were hanging over the counter(you can see them in the above picture). These are tin! all cut out, by hand-yes, I could not believe it...they were large + so beautiful. Had to get a picture of them for you, dear reader.

Let me know what you think of Finns,
the food was delicious.
(and it was walking distance from where I was working...how lucky am I?)

If you try this place, get there early!

London Design Center

I was working in the UK for the last days of March. Here are pictures from the Design Center in London. How beautiful it was & how I adored being there.

The Chelsea Harbour Design Center has three domes. The center dome, where you see the cranes flying in the above picture.

This is dome north or south - can't remember which-they were all just beautiful and full of natural light. There is a balcony, or walkway you can see in the below picture that runs around each floor. The showrooms are located off this balcony on each floor.

This is a shot taken from one of the balconies looking down in the main dome to the restaurant below.

A close-up of the cranes that flew over head, in the center dome..they were so lovely.

To get to the various floors in each dome,  you could use elevators or these beautiful stairs. I loved walking up the stairs. Aren't they lovely...this is a shot of the stairs from one of the domes.

In the center dome there was a delicious restaurant all in white & on each table was a sign of spring!

In a showroom this beautiful orchid plant with pussy willows (in the background of this shot you can see the restaurant).

How I loved visiting this Design Center, each showroom was beautiful and everyone was so helpful to this Yank!

I believe we are separated by a common language - English.

Sketches of Franco Moschino

International Fashion Desk Diary

The pictures below are by Italian Franco Moschino.

Fancy that:
a ruby red riding jacket, black satin shirt with diamante flowers appliqued on the collar.
He added grey flannel trousers and a waistcoat embroidered with rhinestones.

Conservation:
a striking yellow bomber jacket with an embroidered,"USE, REUSE, RECYCLE",
is worn over a clingy red satin "cheong-san"

Well-suited:
classy and tough, a three-piece suit in a beige jersey accessorized with a hip-slung belt and bandanna.

Moschino died in 1994 what an artist we lost.
Which outfit do you like?

Tea with the Queen mum, Price Charles, Camilla, William & Harry

So I was in the UK working! (pictures to be coming soon, I promise) I came across these hysterical tea bags at Harvey Nichols made by Donkey Products.

I had to bring a package each back for A & J.

When I got back we had to try them out and viola!

The Queen Mum is the first tea bag to be tasted. Aren't they cleaver?
Too original-
Look how they hang on the edge of the cup.

The Queen Mum before the hot water is poured in for that proper cup of English tea!

OK here she is in hot water.
So fabulous! and just think we can all have tea
with the Royal Family! The Queen, Charles, Camilla, William & Harry.

On the Donkey Products website they had other tea people but these were the only ones I found at Harvey Nichols.

I am so thrilled to share this with you, dear readers..have you seen anything like these?

London St. Pancras International Train Station

One day we took a train from Pancras Station to Nottingham to see chairs we had chosen for the London House.

What a treat..the architecture was amazing!

And then I got inside! So beautiful...

Isn't this too grand- can you see the Olympic symbol!

Behind the steel columns are all kinds of shops. What fun!

Train to Nottingham, please.

Here is our train at the platform, ready to pull out.

The trains leave on time and are very crowded.

We have just gotten back from Nottingham.

This is one of the unfinished Chairs we had made at Robert Langford factory in Nottingham.
What a grand job that did. Thanks to everyone concerned.

Ta-da... here is completed Georgina chair at the clients home in London.
We had two matching chairs made with Ralph Lauren Fabric.
They are so comfortable.
